I-spy with my little eyes… (now do you understand?)

14 Dec

Just in case you’re blinded,
let me tell you what I see…
because by the way you’re acting
we’re seeing totally different things:

You see an empty map,
with the closest mall miles away,
I see the garden of Eden,
before mankind went astray…

You see rocks that trip you,
and you see soggy mud,
I see exciting rock formations,
& a fresh spring in a trickling flood…

You see dirty and hot,
I see freedom, wild & raw
you see a sky too bright to sleep,
& I behold the heavens in awe…

You see all the people missing,
I find peace in nature’s abode…
Open you’re eyes to the wonder…
we can ride horses beyond the road…

I spy, with my little eyes
something majestic & grand…
so, take off your blindfold & tell me,
Now do you understand???

–Thoughtful words for the grandeur of nature and the Mother Earth. I wonder how many people in today’s world have this desire? To run into the woods feral–climb tree’s and dance around a fire? Perhaps I’ve always had a wild nature—I assume most humans do.–
